OVERVIEW:

The development of Nursing science relies heavily on the Nursing foundation, which equips students with the basic skills and in-depth knowledge required to excel in various specialties. The curriculum focuses on the all-round development of the students, including theoretical knowledge, practical skills, spiritual growth, character building, and coping skills. The progress in the department of Nursing foundation is a testament to the dedicated efforts of the qualified nurses who have devoted their lives to this noble profession.

VISION AND MISSION:

To support nursing education and promote the nursing profession and to improve the quality of life for all. The foundation plays a crucial role in preparing nursing students for their future roles as healthcare professionals. The ultimate goal of the nursing foundation is to equip the students with the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and efficient patient care. Competency is developed through a combination of classroom learning, practical experiences, and exposure to diverse patient populations.

HOD’s DESK:

As the HOD of the department, I am proud to acknowledge the team effort and participatory decision-making that has led to the continuous progress in the department. Our teaching faculty, comprising of experienced teachers and technocrats, is committed to providing a facilitative learning environment for students.

We believe in the power of teamwork and strive to offer experimental learning opportunities through demonstrations of basic procedures in our well-equipped Nursing foundation lab and in our parent hospital. In addition, we encourage students to participate in enrichment training programs such as Basic Life Support and First Aid Management.

Our aim is to groom students to excel in ethics, communication skills, creativity, hard work, and team building qualities. I encourage all students and faculty members to maintain the same level of enthusiasm and dedication in the future.

• Every year conducting First Aid Module along with Community Health Nursing Department.
• Every year conducting Nutrition Demonstration programme in our nutrition lab.
• Students getting very good exposure through field visits.
• Every year the students are visiting the MRD department of various institution.
